Game Rules

• Played by 3 players (in 4-player games, the dealer sits out). Deck of 32 cards (7 to Ace).
• Card Rank: 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace. Suit Rank: ♠ Spades, ♣ Clubs, ♦ Diamonds, ♥ Hearts, No Trump.
• Bidding: Players bid (from '6 Spades' to '10 No Trump') to become the 'Declarer' and take the Talon.
• Talon: The winner takes 2 cards from Talon hiddenly and discards any 2 cards.
• Contract: Declarer pledges to take a number of tricks. Opponents ('Whisters') try to prevent this.
• Misere: Special contract to take ZERO tricks. Opponents play with exposed hands (No Trumps).
• Play: Must follow suit. If void, must trump. If no trump either, discard any card.
• Scoring: Successful contract adds points to Pool. Failure and penalty goes to Dump (Mountain). Whisters earn Whist points.
• Note: This online version is simplified and played as a SINGLE hand (no score keeping across rounds).
